Cooperation, Commitment, Passion and Respect. Let's Build a Local Food System for Your Family, Together!
We commit to growing beautiful food for families who commit to a monthly Meat Box or Farm Fresh Egg delivery and garlic.
We are not a grocery store. We are, however, committed to growing what we can in our climate for you in a way that is honourable, sustainable and humane. We are a small team of humans who value real food raised the slow and natural way that remains SOYA AND CORN free. The only way we can keep our prices affordable and grow our product with integrity is to know there is a family waiting to receive what we grow and taking delivery once a month. We raise a small number of poultry and hogs to be able to make you the packages that you want and the sausages that people have come to love, made by artisans that take pride in quality. Let's talk and make a plan for your family!
We have four sizes of monthly Egg Program memberships (12-month commitment) and three sizes of custom Meat Boxes. Choose only the things your family loves to eat.

Organic honey production.
Building lifetime hail/wind resistant hobby greenhouses for urban yards, acreages and farms.
Created, owned, fully operated by Edmontonians investing in the local economy. We build structures that help gardeners/food producers get a jump on their food-producing season and extend it into autumn as well which helps with food security and self-sufficiency. Our little greenhouses last many years (19 years and counting since our first customer) so this is not a disposable product. Our greenhouses are not dependent on the grid. Vents openers are heat activated and there are additional manual venting options that also welcome pollinators. We use our own backyard greenhouse as a demonstration site for soil amendment through year-round composting and passive thermal heat applications and rainwater use.
There is minimal waste creation during our building process as well. A full 35% of the shop in which we build the greenhouses was built (by us and immediate family - yes, even digging holes for concrete supports) using waste diverted materials. 95% of our equipment is second-hand refurbished and reclaimed.
At Riverbend Gardens we start off our season when everyone else is still huddled up in sweaters and snow boots. We do crazy things like snow plow the fields to get a start on our crops, and we get bedding flowers… out of bed (!) and ready for you in the spring.
We keep growing and going to markets through to Thanksgiving, some all year long, but August marks that time of year when we hit the top of the mountain and enjoy the view!
About the CSA:
We partner with awesome local businesses who share our values and care about building Edmonton’s food economy.
These partners act as pick-up locations for your CSA bounty. Each Thursday you get to visit our friends closest to you and pick up the goods. The bonus here is you get an excuse to drop in on your local baker, butcher, deli, or cooking shop and fully complement your Riverbend Gardens veggies.
This model builds community. It grows incredible relationships and bolsters a network of food-loving people that want to improve how we think about food. This alleviates distribution pressures and allows us to stay in the fields, where farmers perform best.

Stonepost Farms
We are the Doherty’s, we moved out to the Wildwood area in the spring of 2016, and established Stonepost Farms. Our vision for the farm was to have a farm that could support our family which is why Stonepost Farms carries such a diverse line of products. We share a passion for the outdoors, the ability to produce our own food in a natural and healthy fashion, and sustainability of the land. We hope to pass these values down to the next generation of farmers, which includes our kids.
Stonepost Farms’ mission is to farm ethically, to produce nutrient-dense food using ethical and regenerative farming practices that are both economically viable and sustainable for future generations.
As a small family farm and we pride ourselves in constantly striving to produce the best products possible while improving the land in the process. As small, producers, every dollar you spend has an impact. We want to provide you with quality products at a fair price that you can feel good about.
We focus on regenerative farming techniques, going beyond sustainability. Regenerative farming is a holistic approach to farming which allows us to better our land and the soils on which everything on the farm revolves around. Maintaining and increasing biodiversity across our farm is also critical, Our farm already has diverse populations of birds, bees and insects which benefit the farm as a whole and make a healthier landscape.
We continually seek new opportunities to learn and adopt new best management practices, techniques and technologies. This allows us to better operate our farm and return the land and environment to a more natural state.
