Have you always wanted to step out your back door and see your very own beehive? This one-and-a-half-day course teaches the skills needed to have a successful hive. Topics covered in class include honeybee lifecycle, hive management, honeybee behaviors, bee and hive selection, and City of Edmonton regulations about urban beekeeping. On the second day, you’ll get hands on with a hive learning proper hive set up, how to safely collect honey and deliver medications.
After the course, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a mentorship community to assist with troubleshooting problems with your hive.
