Leftovers YEG operates the Rescue Food program in Edmonton. Volunteers pick up surplus edible food from local grocers restaurants bakeries and deliver it directly to service agencies. Agencies use the food in hamper programs or meal services for community members facing hunger.

Their app coordinates routes matches donors with receivers and tracks impacts like pounds rescued meals served and emissions avoided.​

Home Harvest collects excess produce from backyard gardens fruit trees during June to October. Half the harvest goes to service agencies. Growers keep the rest or share with volunteers.

This program took over backyard fruit rescue from Operation Fruit Rescue Edmonton.​

Operations work with over 80 vendors and 60 agencies across Alberta cities including Edmonton. Food stays out of landfills and saves agencies grocery costs. Programs prevent greenhouse gas emissions from waste decomposition.​
