Children are brilliant and talented with a never-ending capacity to learn, explore and innovate.
We are building bridges for the future!
The Edmonton Permaculture Guild’s Children’s Permaculture Camp is a portal into a world where senses are activated as we explore permaculture through the lens of the imagination, with games, and hands-on investigation. Your children will have the opportunity to discover permaculture topics in a playful, kid-friendly fashion. Embark upon a fun-filled community experience that inspires connection, discovery and creativity.
During this 5 day program, students will use permaculture design principles, math, science, and the writing process to tackle community food challenges and opportunities. In addition, the program incudes a field trip to the Prairie Urban Farm located at the University of Alberta, guest speakers, and hands on applications – all ensure that students come away with a greater understanding of integrated systems and nature’s own amazing design.
Cost per student is $270 and includes all classroom & outdoor materials, transportation for field trip as well as the before and after care program.
We are excited and honoured to announce that the Waldorf School has opened their doors to help facilitate this program. Camp activities will take place both out on the school grounds and in the classroom.
Teachers will have First Aid Certification and evidence of a clear police information check and vulnerable sector search.
