Did you know that Canadians waste $31 billion of food every year and that 47% of that is wasted in the home.
The Food Justice Team at Trinity is excited to be hosting a screening of Just Eat It http://www.foodwastemovie.com. Join us for the screening, some smoothies from gleaned vegetables and fruits, samples of preserves from rescued fruit from Edmonton backyards, and conversation. Together we will explore the story of our food waste and how we might make changes to our own eating habits for the sake of the environment and food security.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Film Screening at 7:00 p.m.
Post Screening Question and Answer to follow – Representatives from Earth’s General Store, Master Composter Recyclers, and Avid Food Waste Individuals.
There is no charge for this event but if you are able please consider making a donation. You can make a donation when you register online or at the door the night of the screening. All proceeds will be used to support the work of the Food Justice Team at Trinity United: Community garden beds, film screenings, cooking classes.
